ReviewsGo to reviews pageReleased to somewhat sniffy reviews, this is Danny Elfman's first ballet score, written for chroeographer Twyla Tharp with American Ballet Theater. By all accounts, Elfman seems to have written a score that wears his admiration for the Russian ballet masters (in particular Stravinsky and Prokofiev) proudly on its sleeve. That said, Elfman's multi-movement 45 minute work was scored for amplified electronics in addition to orchestra; by all accounts the collaboration appears to have been smooth and admiration mutual. |
