Concentrates mainly on the music of the forgotten composer John Foulds, who experimented with quarter tones as long ago as 1905. The nearest Foulds came to acceptance was with his annual (1923 26) Remembrance Day choral work A world Requiem, celebrating the dead of all nations. This was put on by the British Legion; but when they withdrew their support after 1926 Foulds suffered much financial hardship. He left England, eventually, after 1935, settling in India.
