Reviews from the Première

In the absence of an EZoner on the spot and of a CD release, here are some mixed reviews:
"half-hoedown/half-diabolical"
Variety
"..this rodeo-styled burst of creativity and Americana was strongly thematic, wildly imaginative, and superbly orchestrated by Steve Bartek."
Soundtrack.net
Danny Elfman's 'Overeager Overture' was a relentlessly perky number that might have been subtitled the 'Overeclectic Overture.'
Ross Care, MusicfromtheMovies
Danny Elfman's "The Overeager Overture" was undernourished, quick bland music.
