From the dead remains of the Slayer's last season, comes a commercial CD release care of Virgin Records. Oddly this disc has been released in the US and UK in very contrasting versions: most noticable is the fact that the US version contains only 12 tracks compared with the UK's 21. Both contain music 'The final flight' written by Robert Duncan for the final episode of season 7, although in this case fans should be aware that an extended version of the track is available from Duncan's own website (http://www.robertduncan.com) as a downloadable zipped MP3 file. As for choosing the best disc, Beck fans should surely opt for the UK version, which includes the 'Dead guys with bombs' cue from 'The zeppo' [Buffy 3.13] which features a brilliantly skittish violin line with plenty of plucky percussion. The US version, however, has Sarah McLachlan's uplifting 'Prayer of Saint Francis' (as heard at the end of the season 6), and this disc is only of music from seasons 5-7, which may appeal to purists. The US version's graveyard grey colour scheme may be more in line with Buffy classic style, but oddly the UK version goes for a blend of sunset glory clearly indicative of the brighter photography used in seasons 5-7.
